Volunteer with the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival
As an all-volunteer-run organization, we can’t produce free concerts and raise funds for music education initiatives without HELP FROM the VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY!
Since 2007 we have raised more than $70,000 for music education causes north of Boston and produced more than 100 FREE CONCERTS.
As a volunteer with the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival, you could assist in year round special projects. These projects include marketing/promotion, event planning, volunteer coordination, merchandise, accounting, and more. We always seek volunteers to help with event production and behind-the-scenes ‘stuff.’ So please consider being a part of something great! Main Festival Volunteering
We are using Signup.com to handle our festival volunteer signups. Please click on the button below to sign up for a spot! You will be taken to a page where you can review available spots, select a shift and enter in an email address and phone number so we can contact you regarding your volunteering!
The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival will be on August 17th this year.
Here’s what you can expect…
Our volunteer needs typically run in 4 hour shifts. There’s an important early shift starting at 8 a.m. to help get things set-up for the Festival. Many of the volunteer shifts start at 11 AM and run consecutively till 7 PM. So you don’t have to commit your entire weekend to the festival, although we’d love to have you. Pick a shift or two. It’s all up to you. Just know that every volunteer hour helps in our mission.
Here’s a bit more on some of the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival tasks we could use help with:
- MAIN FESTIVAL VOLUNTEER: So much goes into staging our “main event” – we need all kinds of help! Volunteer assignments on Saturday and Sunday include construction/set-up and breakdown, signage posting, artist hospitality assistant, volunteer check-in, beer garden sales and id-checking, music education, and more.
